Indexpoint Labs — Portland, Oregon

Numbers that survive someone asking how you got them.

A two-person measurement practice. We size markets, design the instruments that collect the data, and build benchmarks that document their own method.

Practice

What we take on

Every deliverable names which inputs were measured and which were assumed. If that distinction is inconvenient for the answer you were hoping for, we are probably the wrong firm.

What a project looks like

  1. Scope call45 min

You describe the decision the number is for. We tell you whether it is measurable at your budget, and sometimes that it isn't.

  2. Instrument and method memoweek 1

The sampling frame, the questions or the data spec, and the known limitations — agreed in writing before anything is fielded.

  3. Fieldwork and cleaningweeks 2–4

The unglamorous part. Exclusions are logged as they happen rather than reconstructed afterwards.

  4. Readoutweek 5

One deck, one workbook, and the cleaned raw file. You keep the instrument, so you can run it again without us.

Clients

Who this is for

Usually a product or strategy lead at a B2B software or industrial company who needs a defensible number for a board paper, a pricing decision, or a category they are about to enter.

We work on a fixed fee per project, take four projects at a time, and do not offer retainers. There is no analyst subscription and there is nothing to log into.
